Alumni Welcome Back! The Alumni Section was made to keep you in touch wiht Amistad Institute, Host families, and former Amistad Students worldwide.

The Alumni Section of the OIC is chapter that looks for the mutual benefit of the Amistad's Alumni, and for the promotion of the best interests of the Institute. The Alumni Section is responsible of a program that awards two scholarships each fall. We have the Spanish Award for "excellente development during any given Spanish Program", and we have the Volunteer Award for "any volunteer that exceeded our expectation in his/her volunteer service", The Scholarship represents two weeks of any Spanish or Volunteer Program, with everything cover (except traveling issues).It can be given to alumni, former faculty, and friends (the winner's desition).

The main objective of the Alumni Section of the OIC, is to keep Alumni and families in contact, we believe all our participants are people that was possitively touched in some way, and they all are now more concious people, that recognizes and respects the differences between cultures, languages, and persons. Being part of the Alumni Section of Amistad Institute means to have access to these important services:

• Keep in touch: We have a huge database of participants, some of them didn't leave any contact information, but a lot did so. Let us know who you are looking for, and we will try to contact that person for you. Also we have an small group in FaceBook, if you want to be part of it, please send your information to db@amistadcostarica.com, please include Name - Email - City and Country - Program - and When you came to Amistad, and we will send you an invitation.

• Forms: Amistad Institute will fill up forms you may need to approve your internship experience or credits at your college or university.

• Recommendation Letters: Amistad Institute will be very please to write recommendation letters for you to send to potential employers or to use for application to your college or university.

• Family Connection: We make our PO BOX available for you if you want to send a letter of present to your host family. We will deliver it to them.

• Loyalty Card: We will give you a card which will allow you to have 20% of discount when you want to come back through Amistad Institute to one of our programs.

• Points Card: Every time that a person (who you have recommended) takes a one month program with us, we will give you 25 points, when you accumulate 150 points in one given year, you can come to any of our programs, and get a 30% discount.. This promotion does not include air fair, airport taxes and/or tours.

• Amistad Fundraising: As you may know Amistad Institute helps to support different social initiatives (Children Soup Kitchen, Christmas’ Party for Children at Barrio Jesús and Barrio La California, Reforestation Programs, Porrosatí River Recuperation Program and others). We are also planning to start a Scholarships Programs for Poor Children and Teenagers. In order to do all this help, we have created Amistad Foundation (Web site will be available soon). Please ask us about different ways you have to help us to keep on supporting all this organizations.

• Amistad's News: If you approve, we will send you information about new programs, promotions, and specials from Amistad Institute.

• Jop oppotunities in Costa Rica: In the Newsletter we will include jobs for foreigners in Costa Rica, as well as contact information... who knows, maybe next time you can be paid to come!

• Events Calendar: We hope you keep seing each other, maybe there is more people that came to Costa Rica, living in your same area. Send us your planned activities, with the date, time and place, and we will paste it in our Calendar, everybody would see it, and maybe some other people can join your gathering.

• Travel Costa Rica: Fascinating destinations, expert insights, and special prices - these are the key elements of the OIC travel programme, our travel agency Terra Costa Rica, will provide you with all what you need for your travel experience in Costa Rica. For more information click here.

• Spanish Counseling: So, you continued studying Spanish?, maybe you need some extra help sometimes. Let us know about it, and we will help you giving you advise for your Spanish practice and lessons. Just email us counseling@amistadcostatica.com.

• Representatives & Ambassadors: High Schools, Colleges, Universities and other organizations host fairs about international studies, volunteer options or study abroad programs, OIC tries to send a representative or materials to these fairs to spread the word about Amistad programs. As people stop by, they can pick up materials, talk to the representative about the experience, and fill out a sign-up sheet with their information, that we use to send them the newsletter and details about our programs. There are also High School, College, University and other organizations' Newspapers, websites and other, that are always requiring articles and news about programs, if you publish one of this making reference to Costa Rica, and Amistad Institute, we will recognize your efforts.
